Your coach
Sandra-Lorena Bahlmann
Go-to coach for women 30+ in tech startups. I co-founded an online manufacturing startup with supply chain in China and led marketing teams of up to 10 people in B2B SaaS startups, so I've been on the hiring side and in your seat. I started this group because a job search goes better with people who understand what you're going through. Today I coach people in tech startups and tech companies at every career stage.
Questions
Your questions
What is this group coaching?
An 8-week live group coaching for experienced people in tech startups and tech companies. You start with a 60-minute 1:1 kickoff with me, then join seven 60-minute group sessions on Zoom, in English, with max. 6 people. We work on whatever is your biggest challenge right now: getting your job search started, your CV and positioning, target roles, interviews, a career change or explaining a break. The founding price is €790 incl. VAT until 21 October 2026.
Is this only for women?
It's designed with women in tech startups in mind, and most participants are women. Men are welcome if the group fits them. We'll talk about it in the intro call.
Is this an online course?
No. This is live coaching with me, in a small group. There are no pre-recorded videos, no learning modules and no tests, and sessions are not recorded. We work on your individual situation and the questions you bring.
When can I start?
Any time. There's no fixed start date. Your 8 weeks begin with your 1:1 kickoff, then you join the ongoing weekly group. New members join while others finish, so you meet people at different stages of their search.
When do the sessions take place?
Once a week at a fixed time that works for the group, usually early evening in Berlin (CET) and midday in New York and Toronto (ET). The 1:1 kickoff is scheduled individually.
Will I get enough time for my own questions in a group?
Yes. That's why the group is capped at six. You get real time for your case every week, and you learn from the others' cases too.
I've been out of work for a long time. Is this still for me?
Yes. A longer break is one of the most common topics in the group. We'll work on how to explain it with confidence.
Can you guarantee that I'll find a job?
No one can honestly promise that. What I can promise: you'll know how to position yourself, your CV and LinkedIn will be stronger, you'll be prepared for interviews and you'll have a clear plan. That's what you can control, and that's what we work on. And the group gives you what most people lose on a long search: accountability and momentum.
What happens in the intro call?
15–20 minutes, free and without obligation. We look at where you are and whether the group or 1:1 coaching is the better fit for you.
Who is your coach?
I'm Sandra-Lorena Bahlmann, a career and leadership coach for women in tech startups, with 800+ hours of coaching experience and 35+ LinkedIn recommendations from clients. Before coaching, I co-founded a startup and led marketing teams in B2B SaaS startups.
How do I explain a career break in an interview?
A break can be many things: a sabbatical, a long trip, family time, a layoff or a freelance phase in between. Keep it short, factual and confident: what you did, what you're looking for now and why you're ready. One or two sentences are enough. The longer you explain, the more it sounds like an apology. And if it was the trip of your life, say so. Then move the conversation to what you bring to the role.
How do I move into a new role or a new area?
Start from what transfers. Most experience in startups and tech companies is broader than the job title suggests: stakeholder work, data, projects, customers. Pick one clear target role, rewrite your CV and LinkedIn for that role, and prepare to explain the move as a logical next step, not a fresh start.
Why am I not hearing back from my applications?
Often the CV is written for the last job, not the next one. If a recruiter can't see in a few seconds that you fit the role, they move on. Tailoring your CV and LinkedIn to one clear target role, and using your network instead of only applying online, usually changes more than sending out more applications.
Rolling start · max. 6 people in the group
